AC Milan 3-1 Inter: Pulisic, Rabiot and Moreira score in the first half as Inter lose top spot to Lazio

AC Milan beat Inter 3-1 in the Milan derby at San Siro on Saturday 31 October (kick-off 7:45pm GMT), handing Inter their first Serie A defeat of the season, AP and BBC Sport reported.

Christian Pulisic headed in Diego Moreira’s cross in the fourth minute, his fourth goal in Milan derbies according to BBC Sport. Adrien Rabiot made it 2-0 in the 10th minute with a first-time finish from Moreira’s short corner.

Alessandro Bastoni headed in for Inter in the 22nd minute after Manuel Akanji flicked on a corner. Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan made several saves to keep Milan ahead, BBC Sport said. Moreira scored the third with a direct free kick in the 43rd minute.

Inter were awarded a penalty in the second half for a Mario Gila handball, but the decision was overturned after a VAR review. BBC Sport’s statistics showed Inter had 19 shots to Milan’s seven.

The win, three days after Milan’s 4-2 home defeat by Bologna, moves Rúben Amorim’s side up to fourth on 21 points. Cristian Chivu’s Inter stay on 25 points and drop to second behind Lazio, who have a game in hand, on goal difference. Roma are third on 24 after a 5-2 win at Udinese.
