Sony Pictures on Wednesday 28 October released the official trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which the studio describes as the final instalment of its Jumanji action-adventure trilogy. The film opens exclusively in cinemas on 25 December 2026.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan return in the lead roles. According to Sony’s synopsis, this time the game “breaks free of its console”, bringing its chaos into the real world rather than keeping the characters inside the game’s jungle.

Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman also return, with Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito in the cast, according to the studio’s credits, which it says are not final.

Jake Kasdan, who directed the two previous films, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), directs again. He wrote the script with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, based on Chris Van Allsburg’s book Jumanji. Producers include Matt Tolmach, Kasdan, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.

The film has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association, according to the studio’s release information.
