Searchlight Pictures on Wednesday 28 October released a new trailer for Behemoth!, a music drama written and directed by Tony Gilroy, the creator of the Star Wars series Andor and writer of The Bourne Identity. The film opens in cinemas on 4 December, UPI reported.

Pedro Pascal stars as Alex Serian, a cellist who returns home to Los Angeles. “A gifted cellist, Alex Serian, returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road,” the official synopsis says. According to UPI, the character moves from live performance to recording film scores.

The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Will Arnett and Hank Azaria, as well as Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams and Margarita Levieva, according to Variety. Gilroy produced the film with John Gilroy and Sanne Wohlenberg.

Searchlight released an earlier trailer in July, Variety reported. Pascal told Vanity Fair around that time that the film is “a love letter to music; it’s a love letter to movies”, Variety reported. David Harbour was originally cast in the film but left the project in January, Variety reported.

Behemoth! premiered at the New York Film Festival earlier in October.
