Anthropic, the US company behind the Claude artificial intelligence models, filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday 26 October for a proposed initial public offering of its Class A shares.

The company said it intends to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “ANT”. It said the number of shares and the price range “have not yet been determined”. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are listed as lead underwriters.

According to the filing, revenue in the six months to 30 June 2026 was $16.29 billion, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier. The net loss for the period was $80.7 billion, of which about $72 billion was a non-cash accounting charge linked to changes in the value of convertible notes, the filing says. Anthropic reported a loss of about $41.9 billion for 2025.

The filing says Anthropic had 5,300 employees as of 30 September. It also says seven co-founders, including chief executive Dario Amodei and president Daniela Amodei, will control 50.1% of voting power through an entity called Founder LLC, CNBC reported.

Among its risk factors, the company warned that its dispute with the US Department of Defense, which labelled it a “supply chain risk”, could cause “material revenue losses or business disruptions”. It also said it has future payment obligations of about $417 billion for computing capacity, CNBC reported from the filing.
