PSG come from behind to win 3-1 at Strasbourg and go top of Ligue 1
Ousmane Dembélé missed a penalty but then scored the go-ahead goal. Nuno Mendes went off late, leaving PSG with 10 men.
Paris Saint-Germain beat Strasbourg 3-1 at the Stade de la Meinau on Saturday 17 October after trailing at half-time, according to Ligue 1, the club and AFP.
Gio Reyna put Strasbourg ahead in the 17th minute with a shot that took a slight deflection, PSG said. Coach Luis Enrique had rested several regular starters and brought them on in the second half.
Substitute Ousmane Dembélé shot wide from a penalty in the 72nd minute. Illia Zabarnyi equalised in the 77th minute, and Dembélé gave PSG the lead with a powerful shot five minutes from the end of normal time. Désiré Doué made it 3-1 in stoppage time.
Defender Nuno Mendes, a second-half substitute, went off late with a thigh problem, Le Figaro reported. PSG finished with 10 men because they had used all their substitutes. “I don’t know if we can talk about an injury,” Luis Enrique said, adding that the club did not want to take any risk and doctors would assess him on Sunday. Le Figaro also reported that Maghnes Akliouche took a heavy knock to an ankle.
AFP said it was PSG’s fourth straight league win. They lead Ligue 1 with 14 points, ahead of Lille and Monaco on goals scored. Monaco play Lorient on Sunday. PSG host Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
