Ligue 1: Lille held 1-1 by Brest, Lens win 3-1 at Troyes and Toulouse win 3-0 at Le Mans
Olivier Giroud's penalty earned Lille a point. Lens won consecutive league games for the first time this season.
Results from Ligue 1’s seventh round on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October, according to AFP, Sky Sports and Xinhua. PSG’s 3-1 win at Strasbourg is reported separately.
Lille 1 Brest 1: Mama Baldé put Brest ahead in the sixth minute. Olivier Giroud equalised from the penalty spot in the 64th minute after a foul on Ethan Mbappé, who was back from injury, AFP reported. Lille had most of the ball but could not find a winner. They are second with 14 points, level with PSG and Monaco, AFP said.
Troyes 1 Lens 3: A 13th-minute own goal by Troyes’s Adrien Monfray put Lens ahead. Timothé Nkada equalised before Odsonne Édouard restored the lead just before half-time. Ruben Aguilar’s 55th-minute penalty sealed the win. AFP said it was the first time Lens had won two league games in a row this season. They moved up to seventh with 10 points. Promoted Troyes have lost five in a row and are 17th with four points.
Le Mans 0 Toulouse 3 (Friday): Jacen Russell-Rowe scored with a curling shot a minute after half-time. Aron Dønnum, back after an absence following his mother’s death, added the second just before the hour, and Casper Tengstedt scored in the 87th minute. AFP said it was promoted Le Mans’s first home defeat of the season.
Lens play Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday.
