Napoli and Roma drew 3-3 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday 24 October. Napoli led twice, but Roma substitute Leonardo Balerdi scored two goals in the last 16 minutes, Napoli’s official match report and ANSA said.

How the goals came

Frank Zambo Anguissa opened the scoring with a bicycle kick in the 28th minute. Scott McTominay headed in a Matteo Politano cross three minutes after half-time to make it 2-0, according to SSC Napoli.

Roma came back. Matías Soulé scored in the 69th minute, and Balerdi, who had come on just before the hour, equalised in the 74th.

McTominay put Napoli back in front with a right-footed shot in the 83rd minute. Balerdi then headed in a cross from Wesley in the 89th minute to make it 3-3.

Napoli defender Axel Badiashile went off early in the second half and was replaced by Sam Beukema. Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri was sent off by the fourth official late in the game, the club said.

Ever since the season began, we’ve let our lead slip too many times, and tonight we’ve dropped two points. Massimiliano Allegri, Napoli coach, quoted by SSC Napoli

It’s a real shame that we were unable to secure all three points because we deserved them… we must congratulate Roma on fighting back. Frank Zambo Anguissa, quoted by SSC Napoli
