What ETF inflows and outflows mean

A spot crypto ETF is a fund listed on a US stock exchange that holds the cryptocurrency itself. A net inflow means investors put more money into a fund than they took out over the period, so the fund creates new shares and the issuer adds to its holdings of the coin. A net outflow means redemptions exceeded new purchases, so shares are cancelled and the fund’s holdings fall. The figures measure money moving in and out of the funds; they are not a measure of price.
