Nvidia unveils factory-built DSX POD AI data centre modules at GTC Berlin
Jensen Huang said the containerised Vera Rubin systems cut deployment time at a prepared site from six months to as little as 14 days; partners are due to deliver them in early 2027.
Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang introduced DSX POD, a design for complete AI data centres built inside modular containers, in his keynote at the company’s GTC conference in Berlin on Wednesday 21 October.
According to Nvidia, partners will assemble Vera Rubin computing systems, networking, cabling, rack power and liquid cooling inside the containers and test them at the factory before delivery. The units then connect to a prepared site’s power, cooling and network. Nvidia said this reduces deployment time at such a site from six months to as little as 14 days.
“An AI factory creates value when it starts producing tokens — not when construction is complete,” Huang said in the company’s announcement.
Nvidia said it is working with companies including Anduril, Bull, Crusoe, Dell Technologies, Foxconn, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric and Vertiv to deliver DSX POD systems worldwide in early 2027. The company presented the design as a way to speed up AI infrastructure deployment in Europe. It also made announcements on robotics, vehicles, healthcare and telecommunications at the event.
