Lou Gramm, the former lead singer of Foreigner, plans to retire from touring at the end of 2026, USA Today reported on Wednesday 21 October. He is 76.

“I’m very fortunate that at my age I can still sing and hit the notes and everything, but I don’t wanna get to the point where I’m faking it or lowering the key two steps to do the song,” Gramm said in an interview with TalkShopLive, according to USA Today. He said he wanted to “go out with a bang”.

Gramm first spoke about his plans in an October 2025 interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, saying he had been performing for more than 54 years, counting his earlier band Black Sheep, and wanted to spend more time with his children and family.

His official concert calendar lists shows in November and December, including a 12 December concert in his home town of Rochester, New York. The last date listed is 19 December in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Gramm released his third solo album, “Released”, on 27 March. With Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones he co-wrote hits including “Hot Blooded”, “Juke Box Hero” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You”. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013 and into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Foreigner in 2024.
