Apple's iPhone Duo shipping estimates slip to January 2027 after pre-orders open

Customers who ordered first will receive the phone on its 23 October launch day, but Apple's US online store showed late January dates within about 30 minutes, MacRumors reported.

Shipping estimates for Apple’s new iPhone Duo moved into 2027 shortly after pre-orders opened, MacRumors reported.

Pre-orders began at 5am Pacific time on Friday 16 October (12pm GMT Friday) in the United States and selected other countries. Customers who ordered right away will receive the phone on its launch day, Friday 23 October, MacRumors said. By 5:30am Pacific time, Apple’s US online store was showing a shipping date of 25 January for every iPhone Duo configuration, in both colours and all four storage sizes from 256GB to 2TB, according to the site.

That means the phone is no longer available for delivery before Christmas through Apple’s US online store, MacRumors said. Apple Store pickup was briefly offered and then disabled, with Apple telling customers to check back on Saturday 24 October, the site reported.

Apple’s shipping estimates reflect both supply and demand, and Apple has not said how many units were available. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that supply would be limited after earlier reports of manufacturing challenges, MacRumors said. Apple had not commented on the delivery times as of 11pm GMT on Sunday.

The iPhone Duo is also sold through resellers such as Best Buy, and walk-in stock may be available in Apple Stores on launch day, MacRumors said.
