Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip killed four Palestinians, including a child, in the 24 hours to Thursday 22 October, according to Gaza hospitals and the Gaza Health Ministry, Al Jazeera reported.

A young girl was killed by Israeli gunfire in northern Gaza near the Jabalia refugee camp, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. A strike on a vehicle in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood killed one person and seriously injured another, and a separate strike killed a man on a bicycle in Khan Younis in the south, Al Jazeera reported. The health ministry said a fourth person died on Thursday of wounds from an earlier strike.

The Gaza Health Ministry says at least 1,538 Palestinians have been killed and 5,498 injured since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025. Al Jazeera said its maps showed nearly two-thirds of Gaza under Israeli military control or subject to access restrictions. The reports did not include comment from the Israeli military on the incidents.

Background: the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States with Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, took effect in October 2025 after two years of war that began with the Hamas-led attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. Israel and Hamas have each accused the other of violating it.
