EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said ships had been attacked six times in ten days in suspected Russian drone strikes. A NATO spokesperson said the alliance would send surveillance, reconnaissance and forensics support to the region.
Downing Street said it was "wrong to diminish" the role of British and allied troops after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said only a few NATO countries were involved in combat in Afghanistan. Poland's foreign minister also responded.
