Oil prices rose as much as 4% on Thursday after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia and Iranian statements about strikes on vessels, while spot gold fell to its lowest level since 14 October.
Spot gold traded around US$4,120 to US$4,130 an ounce on Wednesday as higher oil prices kept inflation concerns in focus, Reuters reported.
The Australian gold miner kept its full-year guidance after a quarter in which its all-in sustaining cost rose to A$3,217 an ounce.
Spot gold settled at $US4,165.40 an ounce on Friday, Investing.com reported, as traders reduced bets on a US rate rise this month.
