Tesla reported revenue of $28.05 billion and adjusted earnings of 48 cents a share, above analysts' estimates, and lowered its 2026 capital spending outlook from more than $25 billion.
Elon Musk told SpaceX's third-quarter earnings call that independent-director committees at both companies are examining a combination, but said no terms have been agreed and a deal is not certain.
US officials and people familiar with the matter told the newspaper that Elon Musk authorised last week's speed cap on the military-grade service Ukraine uses. Musk has said such limits are decided by the US military and the president, and the White House has said Donald Trump never requested them.
Elon Musk said on Monday he will give one of his SpaceX shares to every child in the US next year. CNBC estimated the pledge at about $10.5 billion; Musk has not said how the shares would be distributed.
Elon Musk called it a "flying car" at a demonstration at SpaceX's test site in Texas. The FAA said the vehicle does not meet its definition of an aircraft.
