The yield on French 10-year government debt passed 5% on Wednesday amid continuing unrest in France, Reuters reported, while the gap with German yields moved back towards early October's 15-year high.
France's 10-year borrowing cost rose about 8 basis points on Monday and the CAC 40 fell more than 1% as investors weighed the weekend's violent cost-of-living protests and the 2027 budget, MarketWatch and AFP reported.
The 10-year yield ended Friday at 5.09%, down from 5.24% a week earlier, according to US Treasury data.
