Crvena Zvezda 2-2 Copenhagen: Elšnik and Kostov goals not enough as Carrizo equalises

Crvena Zvezda drew 2-2 with Copenhagen at the Rajko Mitić Stadium in Belgrade on Thursday, taking their first point of the Conference League league phase, Sportal.rs reported.

Goals

• 29’ Matej Gaštarov turned a cross from the right into his own net to put Copenhagen ahead, according to Sportal.rs.
• 34’ Timi Max Elšnik equalised with a shot into the far corner after a pass from Lučić, Sportal.rs reported.
• 41’ Vasilije Kostov put Zvezda ahead with a shot from the edge of the area that went in under the crossbar.
• 70’ Maher Carrizo levelled with a shot from outside the box, Copenhagen said.

Zvezda hit the crossbar in the 17th minute, Sportal.rs reported. Stefan Gudelj was shown a straight red card in stoppage time and will miss the next game, against Inter Escaldes on 5 November, the site said. Coach Albert Riera named the same starting line-up that lost 3-2 at Lugano on matchday 1.

It was a tough match for us, and we should be happy with the single point. Copenhagen coach Bo Svensson, on the club’s website

Svensson said Delaney had a late headed chance and that winning “would probably have been a bit of a ‘steal’”. Copenhagen have four points from two games and Crvena Zvezda one.
